ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team completed day one of the 7
th Annual Bomber Invite on Friday at the A&E Aquatics Pavilion.

After one day of competition, the Bombers are in third place with 230 points. Cornell leads all the field with 579 points while SUNY Geneseo is currently in second with 281.

The first day of racing consisted of the 500 yard freestyle, the 200 yard IM, the 50 yard freestyle, the 200 yard medley relay, as well as diving.

The Bombers' had three players score points in the 500 yard freestyle. Senior
Nilza Costa placed the highest – 11
th – and earned 16 points with a time of 5:14.10. Right behind her, in 12
th, was freshman Morgan-Hoffman Smith with a time of 5:14.19, to earn 15 points.
Katie Conte earned five points, finishing 20
th overall, with a time of 5:24.01.

In the 200 IM,
Ashley Warren was the top finisher for the Bombers, finishing 21
st overall with a time of 2:15.90, to earn four points.
Angelina Domena also collected two points in the same event, finishing in 23
rd with a time of 2:15.96.

Genevieve Tripler finished 16
th overall in the 50 yard freestyle, earning 11 points for the Bombers after swimming to a time of 24.75.
Paige Landers was not far behind, in 19
th, with a time of 24.90, which earned her and IC six points.

Jackie Pecze rounded out the points scorers in the 50 free, earning a point after finishing in 24
th overall with a time of 25.05.

In the 200 yard medley relay, the team of Hoffman-Smith, Warren, Pecze and Tripler finished in a tie for fifth with Le Moyne after swimming to a time of 1:50.38. The win earned them 49 points.
On the diving side, the women's team competed in the one-meter dive. The Bombers swept the top three and had four of five divers in the top five.Â
Anna Belson placed first and earned 32 points after compiling a total score of 424.40.
Alyssa Wishart finished in second, for 28 points, with a combined mark of 423.70.
Lindsey Suddaby took third with a score of 413.85 to earn 27 points.
Katie Helly rounded out the top five, taking fifth with 402.95 points and earning 25 points for IC.
Jocelyn Pawcio also earned points for the Bombers, finishing in 17th overall with a score of 309.80.

Day two of the Bomber Invite starts tomorrow, Saturday, December 2, at 10 a.m. Swimming with start with the 200 freestyle relay, followed by the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle and the 400 medley relay.

At 1 p.m. diving will begin and then the meet will transition back to swimming at 6 p.m. for the 200 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and the 800 freestyle relay.
