Last Time Out
Ithaca rolls into the postseason coming off its most complete performance of the season in its last day of competition this past weekend at the Eastern University Invitational. The Bombers went 2-0 in the final day of the event, sweeping the tournament hosts in straight sets, before registering its best win of the season in a four-set triumph over sixth-ranked Carnegie Mellon. IC racked up 106 total kills on the afternoon, while it swung at excellent hitting percentages in both matches to pull out the pair of impressive victories.

Hosting Rights
Ithaca is hosting a postseason tournament for the first time since the 2010 season when it was still affiliated with the Empire 8 Conference. It did not become apparent that Ben Light Gymnasium was going to be the site of the Liberty League Tournament until the final match-day of League play. The Bombers entered the final weekend needing some help, as Vassar led the League standings with an unblemished record, which included a win over IC earlier in the year. Ithaca took care of business with victories over Skidmore and Union, and got the help it needed when the Brewers dropped both ends of its North Country road trip to St. Lawrence and Clarkson, allowing IC to vault Vassar for the top spot in the regular season standings.

League Tournament Debut
This weekend's Liberty League Tournament will be the Ithaca College Athletic Department's first foray into postseason play since officially joining the League this past summer.

Earlier Meeting – Skidmore
It has only been two short weeks since Ithaca met Friday night's semifinal opponent in Skidmore. The Bombers bested the Thoroughbreds in three sets on Friday, October 20. IC more than doubled Skidmore in kills, 42-to-20, while Ithaca thoroughly out-distanced the visitors in total blocks (10-to-5) and digs (44-to-29). Freshman right-side hitter
Reagan Stone led the way for Ithaca with 12 kills, while junior middle hitter
Katie Evans added 10 kills. Defensively, junior middle
Amanda Cerruti stood out with two solo blocks and six block assists.
Â
Earlier Meeting – Clarkson
Ithaca dispatched Clarkson in four sets when the teams clashed up in Potsdam, N.Y., on Saturday, October 7. After dropping the opening set to the Golden Knights, the Bombers rallied to put in a dominant effort in the next three sets to seal a victory, which ended up proving to be the difference in IC gaining hosting rights for this weekend's tournament. The Bombers racked up 64 kills to the Golden Knights' 34 in the match, hitting a scintillating .303. Stone once again paced IC with 18 kills, while senior outside hitter
Joelle Goldstein added 12 kills and Cerruti chipped in 11. Sophomore setter
Caitlyn Floyd posted a season-high 53 assists in the match.

Earlier Meeting – Vassar
Ithaca's lone blemish in League play came in a four-set defeat to Vassar in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Saturday, September 23. In a tightly-contested match, it was the Brewers that were able to pull out the clutch plays down the stretch, winning their three sets by a combined seven points. Devan Gallagher and Jane McLeod keyed the Vassar attack with 21 and 19 kills, respectively. The Bombers were led by Stone, who finished with 16 kills on .433 hitting. Goldstein also marked a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs.
