SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team took down Liberty League opponent Union on Saturday by a score of 4-2. All six goals scored were produced in the first half of the game.

With the win, the Bombers improve to 6-5-2 on the season with a 2-3-1 mark in the Liberty League. Union now sits at 8-5-1 overall with a 0-4-1 conference record.

The Bombers scored their first goal just 3:46 into the game. Junior
Zachary Lichtman scored his first goal of the season when he headed in a throw in from
Nate Mansfield.

Union wasted no time in tying things up, adding a goal just over two minutes later. Salvador Lopez, Jr. scored his fifth goal of the season for the Dutchmen in the sixth minute of play to pull the score even, 1-1.

In the 14
th minute, the Bombers once again produced on offense to take a 2-1 lead. Mansfield crossed the ball,
Luke Karen got a piece of it and junior
Sam Factor finished it for his second goal of the season.

The Dutchmen again pulled even, in the 22
nd minute. Lopez, Jr. scored again for Union on a free kick pass from Jeremy Conn.

Less than 10 minutes later, Ithaca scored its third goal, which would end up being enough for the victory. A Lichtman shot was blocked and
Luke Karen was able to head it in for the score to give the Bombers a 3-2 lead.

Ithaca topped things off with another goal in the 42
nd minute to give the Bombers a 4-2 lead.

Lichtman sent a free kick into the box which went off the cross bar. Junior Nate Schoen was there to control the rebound and send it into the back of the net.

Schoen now has two goals on the season while Lichtman has a team-leading eight assists. Lichtman currently leads the Liberty League in assists.

The two teams were nearly even in shot count, with Ithaca registering 14 and Union recording 13. The Bombers also had just one more corner (6) than Union (5).

The Bombers are back in action on Wednesday afternoon when they host Sage at 4 p.m. at Carp Wood Field. It is one of two final regular-season home games that Ithaca has left and the last non-conference game for the Bombers.
