Last Time Out
The Ithaca College field hockey team scored its first victory of the 2016 season over the weekend with a 3-0 victory over Utica College in the team's home opener at Higgins Stadium. The two sides played to a 0-0 stalemate through the opening half, but IC scored twice in the opening 2:47 of the second session to snatch a lead it would not relinquish. The Bombers added a late goal to ice the victory, which moved Ithaca's record to 1-0 in Empire 8 play.

Keegan-Twombly Sparks the Offense
Senior attacking midfield,
Colleen Keegan-Twombly, was the impetus that sparked Ithaca's offensive explosion in the second half against the Pioneers. She opened the scoring just 1:26 into the second half, scoring a goal off of an expertly crafted penalty corner opportunity.
Amanda Schell ripped a hard shot toward the direction of goal and Keegan-Twombly redirected it into the back of the cage from her central location in the scoring arc. She assisted on IC's next opportunity, stealing possession and quickly launching a counterattack down the left wing, before making a perfect backdoor pass to
Michaela Donohue at the right post. Keegan-Twombly iced the game with her second goal of the afternoon with 1:26 remaining, capitalizing on the receiving end of a Donohue pass to complete her five-point effort.

Lass Shuts the Door
Ithaca knew it would be in good shape in the cage this season when it returned the reigning Empire 8 Player of the Year in senior goalkeeper
Katie Lass. The talented backstop was extremely sharp in Saturday's outing, making four point-blank saves during an up-and-down first half. Although her second half was much quieter, as Ithaca began to assert its dominance in the offensive third, Lass went on to finish the game with eight saves to mark her first shutout of the season.

Scouting SUNY Oneonta
The Red Dragons enter today's matchup looking to snap a three-game losing streak. SUNY Oneonta opened the year with a 2-1 victory over Utica, but have subsequently lost three straight, being outscored 11-2. Carissa Warren is the team's point leader with three, all coming on assists. Four players have netted one goal this season, highlighted by last season's scoring duo of Nicole Johnston and Madeline Reilly.
