Riley Marion scored six goals and freshman
Allison Panara added a career-high six points on three goals with three assists to power the Ithaca College women's lacrosse team to a 21-7 win over Hartwick College Saturday afternoon at Wright Stadium in Oneonta, N.Y.
Junior
Morgan Racicot, the reigning Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association's co-Division III Player of the Week, added one goal with three assists while classmate
Morgan Cadwell tallied three goals as Ithaca (9-3, 5-0 Empire 8) remained undefeated in conference play.
Freshman
Julia Silvestri finished with two goals and an assist, while classmate
Danika Wagener had one goal and one assist, and junior
Olivia Oppenheim added two goals as the Bombers picked up their fourth straight win.Â
Marion won five draw controls, scooped up three groundballs, and caused two turnovers while senior
Ally Lates won four draw controls for IC.
Sophomore
Molly Long picked up three groundballs and caused two turnovers and senior
Erika Johnson added three groundballs with one caused turnover as Ithaca enjoyed a 21-10 edge in groundballs and forced Hartwick (4-7, 1-3 Empire 8) into 22 turnovers.Â
Junior
Emily Ross made two saves in 30 minutes in the cage to earn the win and improve to 9-2.
The Bombers converted on 70 percent of their free-position shots, led by Marion (2-for-2), Panara (2-for-2), Silvestri (1-for-1), and Cadwell (2-for-4).
Ithaca, which never trailed in the game, led 5-4 halfway through the first half before going on 10-1 run to close out the half up 15-5. Marion scored all six of her goals in a span of 10:53 to help the Bombers seize control.
Marion's first tally put IC ahead 6-4, then Racicot scored a goal and set up Marion's second goal 35 seconds later for an 8-4 lead. After winning the ensuing draw control, Panara found the back of the net for a 9-4 lead with 10:40 remaining in the opening half.
Marion then scored three consecutive goals in a span of 1:09 to extend the Bomber lead to 12-4. Hartwick got a goal back with 4:27 remaining in the half, but Lates, Marion, and Cadwell each scored as Ithaca went into halftime leading 15-5. Â
The Bombers outscored the Hawks 6-2 in the second half to equal their highest scoring game of the year.
Ithaca travels to No. 11 Hamilton College for a 5 p.m. non-conference clash Tuesday afternoon.
