Women's Lacrosse Falls at No. 1 Cortland

BOXSCORE
CORTLAND, N.Y. —
The Ithaca College women's lacrosse team traveled to defending national champion and No. 1 ranked Cortland Tuesday afternoon, and the Bombers suffered an 18-4 loss, Ithaca's (1-1) first setback of the 2016 campaign.

Senior Riley Marion scored one goal with one assist, and juniors Morgan Cadwell and Morgan Racicot and freshman Allison Panara each added a goal against the Red Dragons (2-0).

Sophomore Elizabeth Sauer caused four turnovers and scooped up three groundballs, while senior Erika Johnson and sophomore Maggie Wise collected two groundballs apiece in the loss.

Sophomore Kimberly Presuto stopped a season-high seven shots while junior Emily Ross made three saves for the Bombers.

Cortland raced out to a 12-0 lead by halftime and led 15-0 before Ithaca got on the scoreboard with 22:02 remaining in the second half. Cadwell's tally started a stretch where the Bombers scored four of the game's next six goals to pull within 17-4 as Cadwell, Marion, Racicot and Panara each found the back of the net during the run.

Nine different student-athletes scored at least one goal for Cortland, led by Ashley Gentile (four goals) and Kristen Ohberg (three goals).

Ithaca travels to No. 3 Franklin & Marshall College for an 11 a.m. non-conference clash Saturday morning before traveling to Florida for a pair of spring break contests against Babson College (March 14) and Skidmore College (March 18).
