Box Score ITHACA, N.Y.—The Ithaca College women's lacrosse team fell short of the Empire 8 title on Sunday, May 3 at Nazareth College. St. John Fisher defeated the Bombers 10-5 in the conference championship game. The Bombers are now 11-8 on the season.

St. John Fisher shot ahead with an early 2-0 lead at 28:04 in the first half. Niki Standera put Ithaca on the board at 20:05 on an assist from Ally Runyon, making the score 2-1.

The Cardinals added three more goals in five minutes, to extend the lead 5-1. The Bombers responded, reducing the lead to two goals before the half.  Runyon scored her first goal of the day on a feed from Riley Marion. Morgan Cadwell then registered an unassisted goal with 4:31 left in the first half.

Fisher opened up the second half with two quick goals. The Bombers countered with two-goal rally to come within two goals. Morgan Racicot added a goal for Ithaca at 21:54, making the score 7-4 in favor of the Cardinals. Senior Emily Peters then registered Ithaca's final goal of the game at 16:03 on a pass from Marion.

St. John Fisher added three more insurance goals to make the final score 10-5 and take the Empire 8 title.

Cadwell, Peters, Racicot, Runyon and Standera all recorded goals in the conference final. Marion logged two assists and Runyon also added one.

Sophomore Emily Ross made five saves in the net for the Bombers.

Marion recorded a team-high six draw controls on the day. Cadwell and Marion led the team with two groundballs each.

The Bombers led Fisher 10-7 in draw controls and were successful on 10-of-11 clear attempts. The Cardinals edged Ithaca in shots and scooped 10 groundballs to Ithaca's 8.
