Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College women's lacrosse team went on the road and fell to 18th-ranked Geneseo by an 8-5 score on Friday, April 17. The low-scoring game was tied 3-3 at halftime before the Knights outscored Ithaca over the final 30 minutes. Geneseo is 9-2 on the season and Ithaca is 7-7. The Bombers will return to conference play on Saturday afternoon with a 4 p.m. game at Houghton.
Ithaca took a 2-0 lead in the first half on goals from
Morgan Cadwell and
Riley Marion on free-position shots. Cadwell scored again later in the first half to give Ithaca a 3-1 lead, but Geneseo scored twice in the final four minutes of the opening half to tie the score.
The Knights took their first lead two minutes into the second half and held on for the win.
Ally Runyon scored her team-leading 43rd goal of the season for Ithaca to bring the Bombers to within one goal at 5-4, but Geneseo scored the next three goals.
Niki Standera scored a late goal for Ithaca, assisted by Runyon.

Emily Ross made 13 saves, which matches her season high in that category.
Geneseo held an 11-4 advantage in draw controls and a 29-17 margin in shots.
