Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. – The 18th-ranked Ithaca College women's lacrosse team opened its season with a 14-8 victory over the University of Rochester on Saturday afternoon at Higgins Stadium.
Ally Runyon had eight goals and two assists for Ithaca to lead the offensive effort. The Bombers closed the first half with a 6-1 run to take an 8-5 lead at halftime and never trailed again.

Ithaca scored the first two goals of the game, but Rochester answered by scoring the next four. Ithaca then used its decisive run over the final 12 minutes of the first half. Runyon accounted for four of Ithaca's six goals in that stretch, and
Riley Marion and
Taylor Purvis each scored once. Runyon scored again early in the second half to give Ithaca a 9-5 lead. Rochester scored twice to make it 9-7, but Ithaca scored five of the last six goals of the game to close out the victory. Two of the second-half goals were scored by
Natalie Lang.

Ithaca held a 29-21 advantage in shots and the Bombers successfully executed 11 clears in 13 opportunities. Ithaca had a 13-11 advantage in draw controls and caused 11 Rochester turnovers.
