RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team captured nine first place finishes en route to a 185-114 win over SUNY Cortland on Saturday in the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion.
The Bombers began the afternoon with a first place finish in the 200 yard medley relay as the group of
Jaclyn Pecze,
Samantha Reilly,
Megan Zart and
Lake Duffy combined to post a time of 1:53.71 in the event.
From there, Ithaca would go on to claim the first two spots in the 1000 yard freestyle as
Cat Tompkins and
Brenna Dowd finishes first and second, respectively.Â
Ithaca's speed continued in the 200 yard free as the Bombers took the top three spots.Â
Nilza Costa won the event with a time of 2:00.95 while Duffy and Pecze finished in second and third place.
Reilly claimed the top overall spot in the 100 yard breaststroke posting a time of 1:09.72 while
Casey Koenig would win the 200 yard butterfly after touching the wall in 2:19.74. Koenig would go on to earn another first place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke as well with a mark of 2:35.39.
Duffy would lay claim to her second first place finish of the meet in the 50 yard freestyle as the junior touched first in 25.24. Zart earned runner-up nods in the event after finishing less than a second behind Duffy at 26.22.
Ithaca continued to create distance in the 100 yard free when Pecze finished before eight other competitors with a time of 56.28.
In the deep end,
Anna Belson finished first overall in the three meter diving event after earning a score of 279.80 which was nearly 11 points higher than the runner-up. Belson would go on to finish second in the one meter event with a mark of 270.75.
Ithaca will return to the water at 7 p.m. on Tuesday when it travels to Geneva to take on William Smith.
