ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team nailed down 10 first-place finishes on Saturday as the Bombers defeated both Fredonia and the College at Brockport in a tri-meet at the A&E Aquatics Pavilion.
Ithaca defeated Brockport, 229-65, before dispatching of Fredonia, 204-90.
The Bombers got the day started with a win in the 200-yard Medley Relay when the team of
Olivia Corlett,
Samantha Reilly,
Megan Zart and
Lauren Cox beat out four other entries with a mark of 1:53.46. Cox would later team up with
Lake Duffy,
Jaclyn Pecze and
Michelle Heidgerken for a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:42.98.
Zart would go on to claim another first-place finishes in the 50-yard butterfly (28.27) while Duffy captured first in the 100-yard freestyle after finishing in 54.94.
The Bombers also received first-place finishes from Reilly (100-yard backstroke),
Casey Koenig (100-yard butterfly), Corlett (50-yard backstroke),
Cat Tompkins (500-yard freestyle) and Heidgerken (1000-yard freestyle).
Ithaca looked strong on the diving board as well with
Anna Belson earning a second –place finish in the 3-meter event with a score of 248.50.
The Bombers will return to the pool at 2 p.m. on Saturday when they face Rensselaer in Troy.
