ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team won a dual meet with Rochester Saturday afternoon, outscoring the Yellowjackets by a score of 175-125 at the Speegle-Wilbraham Aquatic Center. The Bombers took the top spot in 9-of-16 events.
The Bombers earned a first place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as the team of
Erin Hackett,
Lake Duffy,
Lyndsay Isaksen and
Megan Buisman took the top spot in a time of 3:40.92. Isaksen also earned an individual top spot in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing in a time of 2:17.21. Not to be outdone, Buisman finished the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:11.36 for a first place finish.
Kylie Bangs paced the field of eight in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in a time of 1:00.92 for a first place finish. In the 500-yard freestyle,
Miranda Wingfield finished in a time of 5:19.81 to earn the top spot.
Nickie Griesemer swept the diving events, earning first place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 279.38 and the 1-meter dive with a score of 278.25. Both scores marked a season high.
Grace Ayer, the reigning Empire 8 Athlete of the Week, finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:29.45. Ayer also earned first place in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing in a time of 2:10.25.
The Bombers are back in the action on Jan. 25, as they take on Alfred at the Athletics and Events Center.
