ITHACA, N.Y. – The 13th-ranked Ithaca College women's lacrosse team (9-4, 5-0 Empire 8) topped visiting Elmira (6-7, 2-3 Empire 8), 18-4, Friday afternoon at Higgins Stadium to clinch a spot in the Empire 8 Championship tournament.
Ithaca rattled off five straight in the first five minutes of play and went on to lead 11-2 at intermission. The Bombers outscored Elmira, 7-2, in the second stint.
Senior
Tracy Rivas, who sits second all-time at Ithaca in goals and points, scored four goals to lead all action. Freshman Allison Runyon added a hat trick, while seniors
Nikki Dahl and
Kaitlyn Hoffay chipped in a pair apiece. Junior
Becky Guzzo and Hoffay each handed out two assists.

Sam Whitney, sophomores

Emily Peters and
Molly Fischer and freshman
Ally Lates. Avery and rookies

Riley Marion each dished out one assist.
Dahl had a game-high four draws and Guzzo a contest-best four ground balls. Sophomore
Niki Standera, Dahl and Runyon forced two turnovers each defensively.
Senior
Jess Worthman recorded the win in goal during the first half, while junior
Brittany Romano played out the game in goal in the second. Each keeper allowed two goals and recorded two stops.
Ithaca dominated the shot count, 44-11, held a 32-26 advantage in ground balls and won 14 draws to Elmira's nine.
The Bombers will host Alfred in E8 action Saturday, April 20 at 3 p.m. with a chance at securing hosting rights.
