CLINTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team outscored all competitors Saturday afternoon, defeating Hamilton (217-77), Geneseo (164-135) and Hartwick (192-92) in the first quad meet of the season. Ithaca took the top spot in six events during the day.
The Bombers opened with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Kylie Bangs,
Grace Ayer,
Cassie Papaleo and
Megan Zart took the top spot with a time of 1:53.06. Ayer also earned a first place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.31 and the 200-yard medley with a time of 2:12.89.
Megan Buisman finished the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:11.79, earning first place out of 14 entries.
The Bombers swept the diving events, with
Heather Markus earning the top spot in both the 1-meter dive and 3-meter dive. Markus finished the 1-meter with a score of 239.30 and the 3-meter dive with a time of 243.95.
Ithaca returns to action Dec. 6 through Dec. 8 when the team hosts the Bomber Invitational at the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion.
