Bombers Win Ninth-Straight Game With 1-0 Shutout Of Oneonta

Box Score
ONEONTA, N.Y. – The No. 5 Ithaca College women's soccer team (13-1-0, 5-0-0 E8) defeated Oneonta (7-4-3) Tuesday afternoon, dropping the Red Dragons by a score of 1-0 at Red Dragon Field. Senior Meredith Jones scored the lone Bomber goal, while sophomore goalkeeper Beth Coppolecchia made a career-high nine saves to earn her seventh solo shutout of the season.

Jones scored the only goal of the contest in the 54th minute, sneaking a shot past the Oneonta goalkeeper on a 2-on-1 break. Jones' goal marked her first of the season, snapping a 22-game goal drought dating back to a 3-0 win over Farmingdale on Oct. 13, 2012. Fellow senior Ellyn Grant-Keane started the play with a breakout pass, earning an assist on the game-winning goal. Grant-Keane's helper marked the 29th assist of her career, tying Julie Winn('12) for the most assists in Bomber history.

Ithaca's defense was stifling for the reminder of the contest, giving the Bombers their third-straight 1-0 victory.

Ithaca is back in action on Oct. 26 in a conference game against Stevens at Carp Wood Field. The Bombers will pay homage to their seniors before the match, which is set to start at 1 p.m.
