ALFRED, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving team continued its perfect dual-meet season with a 197-98 win over Alfred on Saturday to improve to 11-0 on the year. The Bombers swept the diving events, won both relays, and finished first in seven individual swimming events in the meet.
The Bombers opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay by
Kylie Bangs,
Meredith Wells,
Carly Jones and
Megan Zart in 1:55.38 and closed the meet with a win in 1:45.50 in the 200-yard freestyle relay by
Megan Buisman,
Lauren Cox, Bangs and
Elizabeth Gawrys.
Jones went on to win two individual events as she touched first in the 100-yard freestyle in 55.67 seconds and won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:40.83. Buisman won the 50 back in 28.78 seconds and Gawrys took first in the 1,000 free in 11:06.80.
Other individual event winners for Ithaca included
Shelby Pascoe in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:04.60,
Emily Hoskinson in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.12 and
Cali DeSanto in the 50-yard butterfly in 28.59 seconds.
Korie Fackler took first in both diving events with a score of 276.65 on the 3-meter board and 264.30 on the 1-meter board. Fackler's scores on both boards met the NCAA qualifying standard and her 3-meter total of 276.65 was a pool record at Alfred.
Ithaca's divers will host the Dick Comanzo Memorial Invitational at noon Sunday, and the swimming & diving teams will return to dual meet action at Union next Saturday.
