Undefeated Season Intact For Women's Swimming & Diving

ALFRED, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving team continued its perfect dual-meet season with a 197-98 win over Alfred on Saturday to improve to 11-0 on the year. The Bombers swept the diving events, won both relays, and finished first in seven individual swimming events in the meet.

The Bombers opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay by Kylie Bangs, Meredith Wells, Carly Jones and Megan Zart in 1:55.38 and closed the meet with a win in 1:45.50 in the 200-yard freestyle relay by Megan Buisman, Lauren Cox, Bangs and Elizabeth Gawrys.

Jones went on to win two individual events as she touched first in the 100-yard freestyle in 55.67 seconds and won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:40.83. Buisman won the 50 back in 28.78 seconds and Gawrys took first in the 1,000 free in 11:06.80.

Other individual event winners for Ithaca included Shelby Pascoe in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:04.60, Emily Hoskinson in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.12 and Cali DeSanto in the 50-yard butterfly in 28.59 seconds.

Korie Fackler took first in both diving events with a score of 276.65 on the 3-meter board and 264.30 on the 1-meter board. Fackler's scores on both boards met the NCAA qualifying standard and her 3-meter total of 276.65 was a pool record at Alfred.

Ithaca's divers will host the Dick Comanzo Memorial Invitational at noon Sunday, and the swimming & diving teams will return to dual meet action at Union next Saturday.
