FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving team scored a victory in the final event of the day to help the Bombers to a pair of dual-meet victories Saturday at Fredonia. The Bombers improved to 9-0 on the season with a 152-148 win over the host Fredonia Blue Devils and a 211-87 win over Nazareth.
Ithaca's 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Lyndsay Isaksen,
Megan Zart,
Lauren Cox and
Megan Buisman finished first with a time of 1:42.99 to clinch enough team points to earn the narrow victory over Fredonia. It capped a strong afternoon for Buisman, who also won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:12.60 and placed second in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.67) and 50 free (26.23 seconds).
Two other Bombers each won two individual events for Ithaca.
Elizabeth Gawrys, who won 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.44, edging teammate Buisman by less than a quarter-second. Gawrys also won the 500 free in 5:23.37.
Kylie Bangs won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.83 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:16.69.
Ithaca's
Shelby Pascoe won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:02.67.
The Bombers return to the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion next weekend with a home dual meet against Rochester at 1 p.m. Saturday.
