Hoboken, N.J. – For the seventh time in the nine years of the Empire 8 Championship Tournament, the Ithaca women's lacrosse team makes its appearance. The third-seeded Bombers upended second-seeded Nazareth, 15-4, on Saturday and will face top-seeded and 10th-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the championship game.

Ithaca, who won the conference title in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2008, fell to the Ducks, 11-10, in regular-season play. Stevens holds a 4-2 all-time series advantage, while the squads are knotted at 1-1 in Empire 8 playoff action. The Bombers narrowly defeated Stevens, 12-11 in the 2008 championship game, while the Ducks outlasted Ithaca, 14-10, in last year's title contest.
Tallying its second straight 10-win season, Ithaca is led by junior
Nicole Borisenok (Albany Academy for Girls/Watervliet) with 48 goals, while sophomore
Tracy Rivas (East Meadow/East Meadow) adds 39 scores on the season.
Borisenok has dished out a team-high 13 assists and
Rivas has recorded 12. Junior
Siobhan Sullivan (Franklin/Franklin, Mass.) has collected a team-best of 32 ground balls. She also leads the Bombers with 41 draws with
Rivas chipping in 38. Senior
Abby Peterson (Mount Mansfield Union/Underhill, Vt.) spearheads the Bombers' defensive efforts with 20 caused turnovers. Sophomore
Jess Worthman (Hauppauge/Commack) is 11-5 in goal having stopped 126 shots for a save percentage of 46.0.
