Schenectady, N.Y. - The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team wrapped up an undefeated dual-meet season with a 161-135 win at Union Saturday afternoon. The Bombers finished the year 12-0, their first undefeated campaign since the 2002-03 season and have won 20 straight dual meets dating back to the 2009-10 season.
Junior
Jodi Costello (Framingham/Framingham, Mass.) won both diving events. She scored 245.62 points to win the 1-meter event and scored 262.50 to place first on 3-meter.
Sophomore
Carly Jones (Liverpool/Liverpool) won the 100-yard butterfly in 59.44 seconds and won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:11.88. Senior
Sheila Rhoades (Dryden/Dryden) placed first in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.44 seconds and the 100 free in 52.47 seconds.
That duo teamed with freshman
Carlene Ostromecki (Boyertown/Gilbertsville, Pa.) and sophomore
Madi Sherry (Hamburg/Orchard Park) to open the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:51.35.
Sherry also placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.84.
Ithaca returns to action Feb. 23-26 at the UNYSCSA and Empire 8 championship meet at Nazareth.
