Geneva, N.Y. – The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team won both diving events and both relays in a 197-103 win at William Smith on Tuesday. Ithaca improved to 5-0 on the season with the victory, and returns to action Nov. 19 with a quad meet at home at the Athletics & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion.
Sophomore
Korie Fackler (Central Dauphin East/Harrisburg, Pa.) won both diving events. She met the NCAA qualifying standard by scoring 256.95 points in the 1-meter competition and also finished first in the 3-meter event with a score of 224.20.
Ithaca opened the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:58.04 by team members
Kylie Bangs (Westfield/Westfield, N.J.), freshman
Jasmine Moore (Sacred Heart/Queens Village), junior
Carly Jones (Liverpool/Liverpool) and freshman
Lyndsay Isaksen (Ward Melville/East Setauket). The Bombers closed the meet with a win in the 200 free relay as freshman
Sara Nelson (G. Ray Bodley/Fulton), sophomore
Elizabeth Gawrys (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa),
Isaksen and
Jones clocked in at 1:44.72.
In individual swimming events,
Gawrys won the 500 free in 5:30.29,
Nelson won the 50-yard breaststroke in 34.52 seconds and
Moore won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:15.59.
Jones added to her two relay victories with wins in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.98) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.50). Sophomore
Kait Sessler (Livonia/Livonia) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:02.98 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:19.11.
