Bomber Women's Swimming & Diving Team Defeats Cortland

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team (4-0) remained undefeated on the season and extended its dual-meet winning streak to 24 with a 177-123 win over Cortland on Saturday at the Athletics & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion.

Junior Carly Jones (Liverpool/Liverpool) won three events on the day. She was first in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.43 seconds, the 100-yard freestyle in 55.15 seconds and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:13.29.

Sophomore Korie Fackler (Central Dauphin East/Harrisburg, Pa.) won both diving events with a score of 222.80 in the 1-meter diving and 239.20 on the 3-meter board.

Four other Bombers were victorious in individual events. Sophomore Elizabeth Gawrys (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.35, freshman Kylie Bangs (Westfield/Westfield, N.J.) won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.03, senior Missy Keesler (Union-Endicott/Endicott) won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:11.10 and senior Cali DeSanto (Mexico/Mexico) won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.67.

Ithaca competes again Tuesday in a dual meet at William Smith, and then hosts a quad-meet with Hamilton, Hartwick and Geneseo on Nov. 19.
