Elmira, N.Y. – The Ithaca women's soccer team (9-2-2, 5-1-0 Empire 8) defeated host Elmira, 2-1, on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior defender
Andi Roach (Central Bucks East/Doylestown, Pa.) tallied her first collegiate score with 4:04 lingering in the game to lift the Bombers' from a 1-1 tie.
Ithaca posted the game's first score at the 10-minute mark when junior
Rachael Palladino (Lansing/Lansing) found the feet of sophomore
Ellyn Grant-Keane (Lansing/Lansing) for a goal.
Ithaca, who outshot the Soaring Eagles 24-8, led at intermission, 1-0, before the home squad got on the board in the 52nd minute to knot the action at 1-1.
Roach tallied the game-winner at 85:56 on a cross from junior

Junior
Becca Salant (Holliston/Holliston, Mass.) earned the win in goal for the Blue & Gold having made four stops.
Elmira held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
The Bombers will next travel to Nazareth for a 12 p.m. match on Saturday, Oct. 22.
