ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team opened the newly-constructed Athletics & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion with a pair of wins Saturday in a tri-meet against New Paltz and Fredonia. Ithaca defeated Fredonia 187-113 and beat New Paltz by a 186-108 final score.
Junior
Carly Jones (Liverpool/Liverpool) was victorious in the 100-yard breaststoke in 1:09.58 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:14.28.
Senior
Missy Keesler (Union-Endicott/Endicott) won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:12.38 and sophomore
Fiona Mancuso (Hershey/Hummelstown, Pa.) won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:16.84. Sophomore
Lauren Brundage (St. Elizabeth/Madison, N.J.) won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:37.15.
Freshman
Kylie Bangs (Westfield/Westfield, N.J.) won the 100-yard backstroke in her collegiate debut with a time of 59.84 seconds.
Ithaca's top divers were sophomore
Korie Fackler (Central Dauphin East/Harrisburg, Pa.) who finished fourth on 1-meter with a score of 213.45 and third on 3-meter with a score of 231.45; and senior
Jodi Costello (Framingham/Framingham, Mass.) who placed second on 3-meter with a score of 235.48.
Ithaca returns to action Oct. 29 at Rensselaer.
