Dallas, Pa. -- The women's soccer team (7-2-0), ranked 10th by the NSCAA and 24th by D3soccer.com, rallied for a 2-1 win at Misericordia (8-3-1) Wednesday. Ithaca is the top-ranked team in the NSCAA East Region poll; the Cougars were ranked eighth in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Sophomore
Rachael Palladino (Lansing/Lansing) scored both Bomber goals, knotting the score on a header nine minutes before halftime and netting the game-winner on a breakaway in the 82nd minute.
Palladino now has 26 points and a team-best 11 goals this fall; she's already matched the 12th-best single-season goal total by a Bomber and she's one behind the 12 she scored all of last fall.
Palladino already ranks 11th on Ithaca's career list for goals (23) and points (57).
Sophomore
Caroline Jastremski (Notre Dame Academy/Staten Island) assisted on
Palladino's first goal and freshman
Ellyn Grant-Keane (Lansing/Lansing) picked up the assist on the winning score.
Jastremski is tied for the team lead with five assists;
Grant-Keane is one behind with four.
Senior
Jessica Platt (Monument Mountain/New Marlborough, Mass.) made one save as Ithaca outshot the Cougars
Ithaca plays an Empire 8 match at Alfred Saturday at noon.
