ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca field hockey team (5-7) played its first game at newly-constructed Higgins Stadium and fell 5-2 to visiting Wooster (9-5) Monday afternoon. Bomber freshmen accounted for one goal and two assists in the contest.
Ithaca took a 1-0 lead in the first half at its new home stadium. Sophomore forward
Tracy Rivas (East Meadow/East Meadow) scored a deflected goal on a pass from freshman midfielder
Katie Kennedy (Cicero-North Syracuse/Clay) in the 11th minute.
Rivas scored her fourth goal in the last three games, and leads Ithaca with six goals on the season. It was
Kennedy's fourth point of the year.
Wooster scored the game's next five goals, but Ithaca responded with a second-half tally from freshman
Emily Lash (Oley Valley/Oley, Pa.) assisted by freshman midfielder
Sam English (Ocean Township/Ocean, N.J.).

Kelly Singleton (Irondequoit/Rochester) played the first 57 minutes and made 10 saves. Sophomore goalkeeper
Samantha Grassi (Rondout Valley/Kerhonkson) finished the contest and had two saves.
Ithaca returns to Empire 8 play Saturday at 1 p.m. The Bombers host Washington & Jefferson on senior day at Higgins Stadium.
