#1 Messiah Rallies To Beat #9 Women's Soccer Team

Rachel Palladino snapped Messiah's nearly 800-minute shutout streak

Grantham, Pa. -- Top-ranked Messiah (3-0-0) rallied to beat the ninth-ranked Bombers (1-1-0) 4-1 Saturday.
Freshman Racheael Palladino (Lansing/Groton) opened the game's scoring in the eight minute, tallying her first collegiate goal off an assist from freshman Julie Winn (Sutton/Sutton, Mass.), who recorded her first collegiate point on the play. Palladino's goal was the first given up by the defending national champions in 795 minutes.

Junior Alyssa Sotomayor (East Brunswick/East Brunswick, N.J.) made six saves in 77 minutes with classmate Jessica Platt (Monument Mountain/New Marlborough, Mass.) picking up one save to close out the game.

The Bombers host Misericordia Wednesday at 4 p.m. in their home opener.
