ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 178-43 win over William Smith (1-1) Tuesday night at the Hill Center Pool. Ithaca won all 12 events en route to its highest team score of the season.
The Bombers opened the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1:57.62 on a quartet that included sophomore Missy Keesler (Union-Endicott/Endicott), freshman Madi Sherry (Orchard Park/Orchard Park), junior Emily Britz (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) and freshman Lexi Brawer (Brookline/Brookline, Mass.).
Junior Sheila Rhoades (Dryden/Dryden) won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:56.31. Junior Michelle Rhoades (Dryden/Dryden) won the finals of the 50-yard freestyle in 26.61 seconds.
Junior Becca Blazak (Quaker Valley/Sewickley, Pa.) won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:56.84. Sophomore Cali DeSanto (Mexico/Mexico) won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.30. Junior Joanna Ferreri (Niskayuna/NIskayna) was victorious in the 100-yard freestyle in 56.97 seconds and freshman Liz Clements (Hanover Area/Hanover Township, Pa.) touched first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:06.18.
Ithaca freshman Heather Markus (Saratoga Springs/Greenfield Center) won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 211.45 points and the 3-meter diving event with a score of 213.50.
The Bombers closed the meet with two more wins. Sherry won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.45 and the 200-yard freestyle team of Michelle Rhoades, Blazak, Britz and Sheila Rhoades touched in 1:44.16.
Ithaca returns to action Saturday at Bloomsburg for a 2 p.m. dual meet.
