Ithaca, N.Y. - The women's lacrosse team (2-3, 1-1) lost to undefeated Stevens Institute of Technology (7-0, 3-0) in an Empire 8 contest by a score of 16-10 on Monday. Senior goalie Emily Brooks (Ward Melville/Setauket) made a career high 17 saves in the effort.
Eight different Bombers scored in the contest, led by senior Kim Medla (Brewster/Brewster) who scored three times.
Amongst those scorers were junior Becky Bedard (East Longmeadow/East Longmeadow, Mass.), seniors Meagan Howell (Newark/Newark) and Sarah Knauf (Irondequoit/Rochester), and sophomores Sarah Cox (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) and Kylie McClure (Upper Arlington/Columbus, Ohio). Each registered a goal and an assist.
Sophomore Kassie Garfield (The Wheeler School/Cuttyhunk Island, Mass.) added a goal and led the Bombers with four ground balls, a career high.
The Bombers next action will be on Wednesday as they visit Elmira for an Empire 8 contest.
