ITHACA, N.Y. -- Ithaca (1-5) fell to # 8 Cortland (8-1) 6-0 Tuesday. Cortland marked the third nationally ranked team the Bombers faced this season.

 

Five of the Bombers’ 15 games this season are against nationally ranked teams. Three of Ithaca’s losses were against nationally ranked teams.

 

The best scoring opportunity for the Bombers came with less than 10 seconds left on the clock when junior Elyse Green (Shawnee/Medford, N.J.) made a shot that Cortland’s goalie saved. Junior Rachel Hillerman (Watertown/Watertown) followed with a shot of her own, but it was wide. It was in the last moment of the game that freshman Meg Malone (Rice Memorial/South Burlington, Vt.) made the final shot of the game, which Cortland’s goalie saved.

 

The Bombers’ next game is at Washington & Jefferson on Saturday at 1 p.m.
