ITHACA, N.Y. – The women’s soccer team (6-1-0, 3-0) defeated Stevens Institute of Technology (5-2-1, 1-1) 4-1 on Saturday in an Empire 8 match. Junior forward Chelsey Feldman (Lynbrook/Hewlett) recorded a hat trick in a 6:51 span in the second half to become the Bomber’s all-time leading scorer with 87 career points.
Feldman laced a line drive shot from 35 yards out to record her first goal of the game with less than 36 minutes remaining. Only a minute later, the junior forward tallied a goal on a header to give the Bombers a 3-0 lead. She netted her third and final goal of the game on a header just five minutes later, giving the Bombers a 4-0 advantage. Feldman now leads the team with 10 goals on the season.
Senior forward Colleen Masterson (Charles O. Dickerson/Trumansburg) tallied the first Ithaca goal in the 20th minute. Senior goalie Aimee Meacham (Massena/Massena) played all 90 minutes in the win.
The Bombers extended their Empire 8-record undefeated streak to 27 conference games, posting a record of 25-0-2 dating back to the 2004 season. The win also snapped Stevens’ 50-game unbeaten streak against conference opponents. The Ducks are in their first year as a member of the Empire 8.
Ithaca will visit #10/15 Oneonta on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
