Men's Soccer Falls to Utica 4-0

#17 Ithaca Loses to Utica 4-0
 
ITHACA, NY -- The men's soccer team (5-3-0, 0-1) lost to Utica (4-2-0, 1-0) 4-0 on Saturday. The game was the  Bombers first Empire 8 contest of the year.  The Bombers were ranked 17th in the NSCAA coaches poll heading into the game.
 
Junior goalie Andy Wilhelm (Centennial/ Ellicott City, Md.) made three saves and played all 90 minutes in the effort.  Junior forward Kurt Odenbach (McQuaid Jesuit/Webster) led the
Bomber offense with five total shots and two shots on goal. 
 
The Bombers controlled possession and out shot the Pioneers 25-10 and accumulated 14 corner kicks, but were unable to find the back of the net.
 
The game marked the first time that Utica has ever defeated Ithaca.  They have played every year since 2000.
 
Ithaca will next compete on Saturday, September 29 against Stevens Institute of Technology.
