Rochester, N.Y. -- The volleyball team improved to 12-4 on the season and 1-1 in conference play after defeating Elmira 3-0 (30-23, 30-18, 30-24) at the Empire 8 Crossover, hosted by St. John Fisher. Sophomore Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Conn.) put down nine kills with just one error in 18 attempts for a .444 hitting percentage.

Senior Andria Mynders (Minisink Valley/Greenville) tallied a match-high 10 kills in the win. Sophomore Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) registered 23 assists and, six service aces and five digs. Senior Jenna Yehl (Horseheads/Horseheads) had a team-best 13 digs.

Ithaca continues play at the Empire 8 Crossover Saturday when they face Alfred at 9:30 a.m. and Stevens Institute of Technology at 2:30 p.m. The Bombers' match against the Ducks will be webcast live on Empire 8.tv. Viewers will need to register to watch the webcast through Penn Atlantic and pay a $2 fee to watch the match
