Scranton, Pa. – The field hockey team (1-4) lost to Scranton (2-4), 1-0, in overtime on Wednesday. It was the second consecutive game that the Bombers went into overtime.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Courtney Dowell (Massapequa/Massapequa) played the second half of the game and did not allow a goal. In her last four games,
Dowell has only given up one goal.
The Bombers’ best scoring opportunity came early in the second half, when they tapped a shot off a cross that missed the goal by less than a foot.
The Bombers return to action on Tuesday when they host Cortland at 4 p.m. Ithaca returns to Empire 8 play on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Washington & Jefferson. The Bombers currently lead the Empire 8 after upsetting pre–season conference favorite Utica, 1-0, on Sunday.
