Rochester, N.Y. -- The men's soccer team (8-4-1, 2-2-1 Empire 8) shut out Rochester Institute of Technology (8-6-1, 2-3-0 Empire 8) 1-0 on Saturday in a conference game. Junior forward Kurt Odenbach (McQuaid Jesuit/Webster) scored in the game's fifth minute, and the Bombers held on for their third straight shutout victory.

Odenbach scored his fifth goal of the season on a one-timer assisted by junior forward John Tarson (Philips Academy/Acton, Mass.). The assist was Tarson’s fourth of the season.

Junior goalie Andy Wilhelm (Centennial/ Ellicott City, Md.) recorded two saves in the win and earned his fifth shutout of the season (fourth consecutive). Wilhelm pushed his shutout streak to 418:21.

The victory moved Ithaca into a tie for third place in the Empire 8 standings with just two conference games remaining.

The Bombers visit Nazareth on Sunday in another conference match.
