ITHACA, N.Y. – The 14th-ranked wrestling team picked up its eighth win of the season with a 29-15 win over 25th-ranked Oneonta. Three Bombers picked up pin falls, improving the teams record to 8-2 this season.
Freshman
Justin Seifried (Mohawk Central/Herkimer) began the match with a pin, giving Ithaca an early 6-0 lead. Classmate
Willie Horwath (Liberty/Bethlehem, Pa.) added to the lead with a 14-5 major decision at the 141 pound weight class.
John Dale (North Penn/North Wales, Pa.) tallied a win by fall at 165 pounds, and seventh-ranked
Nick Calandrino (Emerson/Emerson, N.J.) picked up his 47th career pin in 49 seconds at 184 pounds. Freshmen
Dave Sbrisca (Warren Hills/Stewartsville, N.J.) and
Jon Gregory (Phillipsburg/Phillipsburg, N.J.) also notched victories for Ithaca.
Next up, the Bombers host Wilkes at Ben Light Gymnasium on Saturday, February 3 at 2 p.m. in the last home dual match of the season.
