Rochester, N.Y. - Ithaca (1-2) split a pair of matches Saturday at Nazareth’s Flower City Tournament. The Bombers posted their first win of the season, topping Hobart 8-1, then lost 7-2 to Rochester. Ithaca will face St. Lawrence in Sunday’s third/fourth-place match.
Freshman Jake Bear (Barnstable/Centerville, Mass.) remained unbeaten (3-0) in singles play and classmate Taylor Borda (West Morris-Mendham/Chester, N.J.) went 3-1 on the day; both are 4-2 overall this fall.
Borda and freshman Danny Wolk (The Field School/Potomac, Md.) both picked up their first career win in the Hobart victory, posting wins in singles and doubles. Senior Colin Flynn (Needham/Needham, Mass.) and Bear were double winners as well.
