Field Hockey Defeats Hartwick in Double-Overtime, 2-1

Courtney Clark's goal was the first of her career
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Bombers defeated the visiting Hawks (1-3, 0-1 Empire 8) 2-1 in double overtime to run their record to 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. Sophomore forward Courtney Clark  scored the game winner three minutes into the second overtime period. The goal was the first of her career.
 
Ithaca opened the scoring five minutes into the match when sophomore forward Elyse Green  converted a feed from senior midfielder Bryce Meck for her second goal of the season.
 
Senior goalkeeper Andrea Baraiola made nine saves to record her third straight victory and improve to 3-2 on the year. Senior Melanie McKaney and sophomore Marisa Frank each had a defensive save.
 
With the win, the Bombers became the first squad in Empire 8 history to defeat both Utica and Hartwick in conference play in the same season.
 
The Bombers will return to action Wednesday when they host Scranton at Yavits Field at 4 p.m.
