Williamsport, Pa. -- The 11th-ranked men's lacrosse team opened its season with a 14-7 win at Lycoming Saturday. The victory marked the sixth time in eight years that the Bombers won their season-opening game.
Sophomore attack
Matt Nelligan (Pingree School/Rowley, Mass.) led Ithaca, posting career-high totals of six goals, two assists and eight points. Senior midfielder
Doug Lumb (Auburn/Auburn) and senior attack
Brandon Geluso (Harborfields/Greenlawn) added two points apiece.
Bombers recorded their first career point: sophomore midfielder

Matt Cutter (Needham/Needham, Mass.), freshman midfielder
Mike Giunta (B. Reed Henderson/West Chester, Pa.) each scored a goal and senior defenseman
Andrew Zysk (West Genesee/Syracuse) added an assist.
Junior
Dennis Butler (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) made seven saves in goal.
The Bombers are back in action next Saturday, playing a 1 p.m. game at King’s.
