Volleyball Defeats RIT in Round Two of NYSWCAA Tournament

Corrina Doctor ranks ninth on Ithaca's single-season assist list.
Saratoga Springs, N.Y. -- The volleyball team defeated Rochester Institute of Technology 3-1 (30-20, 27-30, 30-20, 34-32) in the quarterfinal round of the NYSWCAA tournament held at Skidmore. Freshman Rachel Busch (Hoover/North Canton, Ohio) matched a career-high with 13 kills in the match.  
 
Freshman setter Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) led with 42 assists and also recorded 10 digs. Doctor is now in sole possession of ninth place on the all-time season leader list for assists with 1,259. Junior outside hitter Amanda Hubbard (Horseheads/ Horseheads) registered 16 kills and six digs.  Hubbard is now in the top-ten all-time season leader list for digs. Classmate Mary Schaefer (Eden/Eden) recorded a team-high 27 digs and is seventh on the all-time season leader list for digs.    
 
Ithaca will continue play in the semifinal round of NYSWCAA tournament tomorrow at 10 a.m. against #2  Brockport.
