GLASSBORO, N.J. - The Ithaca men's soccer team fell to Rowan, 2-1 at the Rowan University Invitational.
The Bombers and the Profs played a scoreless first half. Ithaca sophomore Eric Ferguson (Columbia/East Greenbush) made four saves.
In the second half, Rowan broke the deadlock with a goal in the 74th minute. Less than four minutes later, sophomore Ryan Cole (Bishop Ludden/Liverpool) scored his second goal of the season to tie the game at one. Junior Mark Jefferies (Brighton/Rochester) assisted on the goal. Then at 84:35, Rowan's Dwayne Reevey netted the game-winning goal.
Freshman Andy Wilhelm (Centennial/Ellicott City, Md.) was the second-half goalie for the Bombers, making five saves.
Senior Steve Bell (Morris Hills/Rockaway, N.J.), junior Chris Holden (Oakton/Herndon, Va.) and Cole were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Ithaca fell to 1-1-0 on the season while Rowan improved to 2-0-0.
Ithaca travels to Cortland to face-off against the Red Dragons on Saturday, September 10. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
