Ithaca College announced the hiring of Erin Growney as assistant coach for the women’s lacrosse program on August 5, 2015. She begins her third season on head coach Karrie Moore's staff in 2017-18.

Growney has helped the Ithaca College women's lacrosse program to new heights in her first two seasons with the program. The Bombers have posted a 28-11 record over the past two years, which included back-to-back Empire 8 regular-season titles and at-large berths to the NCAA Division III Tournament. In 2017, she helped IC make its first-ever appearance in the Round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

In total, she has helped guide the team to 14 Empire 8 All-Conference honorees and nine IWLCA All-Region accolades.

Prior to joining Ithaca, Growney spent two seasons as an assistant at Brockport where she helped guide the Golden Eagles to an overall record of 20-14.

While at Brockport, Growney primarily worked with the team’s defense, which resulted in one student-athlete being named the 2015 SUNYAC Defender of the Year. In 2014, Brockport was ranked as high as 13th in the nation.

Growney is currently working towards her master’s in physical education with a concentration in athletic administration from Brockport and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business marketing from Limestone in 2011.

As a four-year player at NCAA Division II Limestone, the Rochester, N.Y. native was a three-time IWLCA Second-Team All-American and the 2008 DII Rookie of the Year. She won 161 draw control in 79 career games to go along with 15 goals and three assists. Growney also scooped up 75 groundballs and caused 44 turnovers. Limestone reached the national championship game during Growney’s senior season and the Saints compiled an overall record of 70-9 from 2008-11.

Growney has also served as the head coach of the Midwestern Force Lacrosse Club since 2013.
