Peter Ezema (High School for Health/New York City, N.Y.) of the Ithaca College men’s basketball team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 31, 2016.
Ezema averaged a double-double and helped guide the Bombers to a 1-1 record last week. Against Elmira, the New York native posted 13 points along with eight rebounds before finishing with a career-high 29 points and 17 boards against Nazareth on Saturday in what marked his ninth double-double in 19 games this season.
For the week, the freshman forward averaged 21 points, 12.5 rebounds and two steals for Ithaca overall while shooting 18-of-39 (.462) from the field.
Ezema, whose 11.3 rebounds currently ranks in the nation’s top 15, will return to action at 6 p.m. on Thursday when the Bombers take on St. John Fisher College inside Ben Light Gymnasium. Â
