INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team competed at the NCAA Championships on Friday, earning more all-America selections on the third day of competition.
Ithaca took 12th overall in the 800-yard freestyle relay, earning the team of
Addison Hebert,
John Carr,
Adam Zelehowsky and
Chris Cadwell all-America honors. The group finished in a time of 6:44.22, giving Hebert and Carr their first all-America selections. It marked the third selection for Cadwell and the fourth for A. Zelehowsky.
Junior
Matt Morrison earned his second all-America selection of the 2014 NCAA Championships, taking first-team honors in the 1-meter dive. Morrison finished seventh overall with a score of 479.65 after earning a spot in the event final with a score of 480.10 in the preliminaries. Morrison's finish marked the second first-team All-America honor of his career and fourth overall.
The Bombers submitted two entries in the 200-yard butterfly. Junior
Lucas Zelehowsky took 26th overall in the preliminaries with a time of 1:52.42. Senior
Taylor Van Cott finished in a time of 1:54.62 during the morning sessions, taking 32nd overall.
Senior
Connor White also saw action in the 100-yard backstroke preliminaries, but suffered a disqualification.
Ithaca moved up to 21st overall in the team standings with 24 points points through 28 events.
