Bombers Earn Accolades On Day Two Of NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team saw more success on day two of the 2014 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.

The day started with a 14th place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay in the preliminaries, as the team of Peter Knight, Adam Zelehowsky, Chris Cadwell and Zack Kundel finished in a time of 1:22.73. The finish earned the group all-America honors and a spot in the consolation finals. This marked the second career all-America honors for Cadwell, Knight and A. Zelehowsky. It marked the third selection for Kundel, who was named an all-American in 2012 and 2013. The group went on to a finish in a time of 1:22.82 in the consolation finals.  

A. Zelehowsky added to his trophy case in the 200-yard freestyle. He took 14th in the preliminaries with a time of 1:39.72 to earn his second all-America selection of the day and third of his career. A. Zelehowsky finished 16th overall in the consolation final with a time of 1:41.03.

Junior Lucas Zelehowsky took 33rd overall in the 100-yard butterfly preliminaries, finishing in 49.80. His time set a new program record, breaking his own mark of 49.85 that was set earlier this season at the UNYSCSA / Empire 8 meet.

The Bombers narrowly missed more accolades in the 400-yard medley relay, as the team of Connor White, Taylor Van Cott, L. Zelehowsky and Knight took 17th in the preliminaries with a time of 3:23.72.

After 19 events, Ithaca ranks 28th overall in team scoring.
