Biography
2009-10: During the indoor season of her junior year, Johnston earned All-NYSCTC accolades in the triple jump having recorded a season-best jump of 10.43 meters. She also tallied season-best marks of 8.78 in the 60-meter dash, ran a leg of Ithaca’s 1:57.48 800 relay and notched a 4.67-meter mark in the long jump at the Empire 8 Championships. During the outdoor season, Johnston was a runner-up in the triple jump at the Empire 8 Championships and earned All-NYSCTC honors in the same event having placed eighth. She recorded season-bests of 13.95 in the 100 dash, 28.58 in the 200 dash, 4.90 meters in the long jump and 10.68 meters in the triple jump. She also helped the Bombers’ 400 relay team to a 53.58 finish.
2008-09: Johnston placed eight at the indoor NYSCTC Championships in the triple jump at 10.44 meters. She also placed sixth in the event at the Empire 8 Championships.
2006-07: Johnston competed in throws, jumps and sprints for the Bombers as a freshman. At the Ithaca Invitational she placed second in the discus throw (23.86 meters) and fourth in the long jump (4.21 meters).
High School: A 2007 graduate of Jonathan Law High School, Johnston was coached by Linwood Schulte. She was a four year letter-winner on the track & field squad and served as captain during the 2007 season. She was the most improved athlete as a sophmore and placed fifth in the class MM state triple jump competition in 2005. Johnston also lettered in volleyball and earned the coaches awar and most improved accolades in 2007.
Personal: An English major, she is the daughter of Ron Johnston and Catherine Delaney.
