2010-11: Baumbach was an All-ECAC, All-NYSCTC and All-Empire 8 selection as a junior. Indoors, she helped win the DMR and earned all-NYSCTC honors in the mile run at the state meet, won the Empire 8 5,000-meter run and earned All-ECAC accolades in the DMR while clocking season-best times of 5:08.12 in the mile, 18:30.19 in the 5K and 12:05.93 in the DMR. Outdoors Baumbach won the steeplechase at the NYSCTC championships, earned All-NYSCTC accolades in the 5K and tallied All-ECAC recognition in the 5,000 and the steeplechase. She finished the season with season-best times of 4:48.81 in the 1,500 run, 17:57.14 in the 5,000 run and 11:00.02 in the steeplechase.
2009-10: During the indoor season of her sophomore year, Baumbach competed in four distance events. She earned All-ECAC honors as a member of the 3,200-meter relay, helped her team to win the NYSCTC 3,200 relay and was an all-state member in the mile run with a fifth-place performance. Baumbach recorded season-best times of 5:12.51 in the mile run, 10:30.85 in the 3,000 run, 18:35.59 in the 5,000 and 9:44.54 in the 4x800 relay. Named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, Baumbach provisionally qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 11:09.44. She also earned All-NYSCTC honors in the outdoor season after a seventh-place finish in the steeplechase. Baumbach competed in the 1,500 run and the 10,000 run recording season-bests of 5:54.69 and 40:10.59, respectively.
2008-09: Baumbach was Empire 8 champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:02.51. She also earned all-ECAC honors in the event with a fourth place showing at the ECAC Championships, where she ran a career-best 11:15.05. She also earned a pair of all-state accolades after finishing third in the 1,500-meter run at the state meet and as a member of the runner-up 3,200-meter relay team. Indoors, Baumbach was a member of the distance medley relay team that won the NYSCTC title and finished second in the Empire 8. Individually, Baumbach placed third in the mile run (5:23.92) and eighth in the 1,000-meter run (3:18.44) at the indoor state meet.
High School: Baumbach is a 2008 graduate of Lake Placid High School. She earned four varsity letters in track & field, and also lettered in cross country and skiing. In track & field she earned three gold letters, was voted most improved in 2006 and placed sixth in the 1,500-meter run at the New York State Championships in 2008. She also served as a team captain.
Personal: A clinical exercise science major, she is the daughter of Phil and Laurie Baumbach. She is also a member of the women’s cross country team and was the 2008 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year and the 2010 Empire 8 Runner of the Year.
