Biography
2010-11: Garman earned All-NYSCTC honors in the outdoor shot put as a sophomore. She finished the indoor season with season-best marks of 10.57 meters in the shot put and 12.68 meters in the weight throw. Outdoors Garman has season-best distances of 10.80 meters in the shot put, 31.59 meters in the discus and 38.07 meters in the hammer.
2009-10: Garman opened her collegiate career with a season-best throw of 11.41 meters to earn her an Empire 8 shot put title. Having placed fifth in the conference in weight, Garman also placed the same at the state meet to earn All-NYSCTC accolades. She notched a season-best toss of 12.63 meters in the weight at Cornell’s Upstate Challenge on Jan. 23. Outdoors, Garman competed in the shot, discus and hammer. She tallied season-best distances of 10.46 meters in the shot put, 30.99 meters in the discus and 38.49 meters in the hammer.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Seymour High School, Garman was coached by Tom Lennon and earned six letters in track & field. She was state champion in the hammer throw as a senior and was a two-time team captain. She also lettered in soccer.
Personal: A business administration/management major, she is the daughter of Jim and Suzanne Garman.
