Kelsey Tischler joined the Ithaca College women’s track & field and cross country teams as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2020-21 academic year. Tischler is also currently enrolled in IC’s sports psychology master’s program and is conducting research on performance anxiety.
Tischler comes to South Hill after graduating from Grove City College in Grove City, Pa. in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and minors in exercise science and family studies. While at Grove City, Tischler was a four-year member of the football team as a kicker. As a member of the football team, Tischler was named to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference academic honor roll in three seasons and landed on the Dean’s List with High Distinction during four semesters.
From March 2018 to May 2019, Tischler served as a volunteer assistant at Grove City High School and mentored jumpers and pole vaulters. In all, Tischler oversaw the development of 27 athletes during that time.
A native of Bethel Park, Pa., Tischler was an all-conference kicker for the football team and competed three seasons for the cross country and track & field programs, and was a captain for track her senior year.
