Biography
2007-08: Fries competed in the freestyle events, posting a top time of 59.71 in the 100-yard freestyle. Her top perfomances in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle were 2:09.99 and 5:51.44, respectively. Fries also swam season-best times of 11:51.93 in the 1,000 and 199:40.63 in the 1,650.
2006-07: Fries participated in three events at the state meet, finishing with the 33rd-fastest time in the 100-yard butterfly (1:10.68). She was 34th in the 500-yard freestyle (5:40.55) and 41st in the 100-yard freestyle (59.90). Fries recorded a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle against Alfred and a fourth-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle in Ithaca's season-opening win against Rensselaer.
High School: A 2006 graduate of Immaculatta High School, Fries was coached by Matthew Donovan. She earned four varsity letters as a member of the swimming & diving team and served as team captain from 2003-06. Fries also competed in the New Jersey YMCA league, where she was a 2005 state finalist in the 500-yard freestyle and was a member of the 2006 state championship team.
Personal: A clinical health studies/physical therapy major, she is the daughter of Stephen and Linda Fries.
