Donté Garcia '23 returned to his alma mater to serve as the assistant strength and conditioning coach and began his appointment on August 5, 2024.
Garcia spent the last year at NCAA Division I Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. as a graduate fellow in the strength and conditioning department. While there, he worked with football, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, men's volleyball and the track & field teams.
Prior to his stop at Merrimack, Garcia was a five-year member of the football team at Ithaca and played in 38 games from 2018-22 as a running back. He amassed 469 yards on the ground with two touchdowns on 119 carries and caught 36 passes for 266 yards and two more scores. He was named Liberty League All-Academic four times.
A native of East Stroudsburg, Pa., Garcia received his bachelor's from Ithaca in exercise science and master's from Merrimack in exercise and sports science. He has certifications in CSCS, USAWL, CPR/FA/AED.
